Sanshilijingzi Wind Power plant at Jiuquan Wind Power Base is the earlinest large-scale wind power plants put into operation in Gansu province. It was invested by Gansu Jieyuan Wind Power Co., Ltd. from Longyuan Group of State Power and was listed as one of the 20 large-scale wind power plants by the State Development and Reform Commission.
Its planned installation capacity is 200,000KW. Its construction began in June of 1997, after which large-scale wind power units with the capacity of 300KW, 600KW and 850KW have been introduced from Danmark, Spain and Jinfeng Company of Xinjiang. With the first-, second- and third-stage engineering and technical reforming engineering, the plant had installed 142 machines with the total capacity of 110,000KW by the end of 2006, all power transmitted into Gansu power grid.
According to the actual construction and operation of Sanshilijingzi Wind Power Plant, the total investment of construction is around 8,000 RMB/KW, the full-load power-generating hour of the wind machine is 2000 hours per year and the average annual rate of return is 8%.
